The 2014 edition of Medical Fair Asia (Singapore) was a sell-out success, reaffirming its position as Asia’s premier medical exhibition.

The international exhibition on hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and medical & rehabilitation equipment & supplies enjoyed a 50% increase in exhibitor participation, with 800 companies from 35 countries showcasing their latest medical technologies at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Center. The 10,780 trade visitors, 40% of which came from outside of Singapore, represented a 20% rise in visitor attendance, compared to the 2012 event.

The fair also attracted a strong line-up of government level delegations and hospital management personnel from Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Turkey, and Vietnam. In addition to the individual exhibitors, 15 country group exhibits were presented, including from Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, and the USA. The industry’s shift to a more patient-centric approach was showcased by m-Health telemedicine, digital, and wireless applications, as well as home-care monitoring devices and innovations in rehabilitation.

“Medical Fair Asia’s continuing and growing importance to the region and beyond has been demonstrated by the success of this year’s exhibition, which continues to attract an increasing number of companies looking to do business in Asia as the region’s healthcare sector continues on a robust growth path,” said Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia (Singapore), which organized the event.

Concomitantly with Medical Fair Asia 2014, the Singapore Medical & Healthcare Conference presented cutting edge advancements in Singapore’s medical and health care sector, ranging from innovations in healthcare funding to next-generation healthcare technology, such as Google Glass. The 223 delegates also visited three leading healthcare facilities in Singapore - Fortis Surgical Hospital, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, and the NUHS Advanced Surgical Training Center.
