Over 10,400 international trade visitors attended Medical Fair India 2015, India’s premier trade fair for hospitals, health centers, and clinics.

The 21st International Exhibition and Conference held this year at Pragati Maidan (New Delhi; India) hosted 447 exhibitors from 18 countries, who presented a comprehensive product portfolio on over 5,250 m2 of exhibit space. The 289 exhibitors from abroad underscored the international importance of the booming Indian health market, which is expected to grow to USD 280 billion by 2020, especially in the innovation-driven and export-oriented field of medical device technology.

Trade fair visitors included numerous top leaders from the Indian healthcare sector as well as well-known personalities such as Prof. Wali, MD, physician to the President of India, Shailendra Kumar, director of the Ministry of Health & Family, and other local dignitaries. International partners included the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMHPIE), the German Healthcare Export Group (GHE), and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), among many others.

This year, the trade fair also introduced a new segment, Hospital Infrastructure, which was launched with a technical conference that discussed both hospital infrastructure & planning and medical device & technology. Consisting of high-caliber lectures and panel discussions, the conference agenda offered decision-makers from clinics, medical professionals, retailers, and industry and healthcare agents an ideal platform to learn about trends and network with experts. In addition to the conferences, independent workshops allowed the exhibitors to present themselves to the visitors.

“Medical Fair India is a one of a kind medical and healthcare event offering an ideal international platform for the medical and healthcare industry,” said Rajiv Nath, chairman the Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED; New Delhi, India). “It is on its way to becoming the most successful and exceptional exhibition to showcase medical technologies.”

“Really, this medical trade fair was an international meeting place, which has opened up new opportunities in the healthcare industry,” said Pradeep Bhardwaj, MD, executive director & CEO of Six Sigma Star Health Care (New Delhi, India). “The entire trade fair including awards, conferences and exhibitions was highly useful for every hospital, medical device, and diagnostics company. I am proud to consider this event as one of the largest medical fairs in healthcare.”
