Dubai to Host Biggest-Ever Arab Health Congress

In the largest-to-date series of medical gatherings in the Middle East, the International Arab Health Congress will feature 11 separate conferences this year. The congress will take place simultaneously with Arab Health, the main healthcare event covering the region. Both events will be held January 18-21, 2003, at the International Exhibition Center in Dubai (UAE, United Arab Emirates). The congress will bring together leading experts from the USA, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and Autralasia to address key regional healthcare issues and the latest in patient care.

The organizers note that the Arab Health exhibition will be 40% larger in 2004 and for the first time will encompass eight halls. To date, 25 countries have confirmed they will have national pavilions at the show, including for the first time Brazil, Singapore, Pakistan, Holland, and Turkey. The separate conferences of the congress will cover plastic surgery, otology, diabetes and obesity, disease management, workplace healthcare, advanced minimally invasive surgery, hypertension and associated conditions, dentistry, radiology and imaging, hospital design, and women's health. Among the key healthcare issues to be discussed are obesity in children and adolescents, advances in pediatric surgery, the latest developments in hormone replacement therapy (HRT), treatment of coronary heart disease, and the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer.
