ResMed Acquires Sleep Apnea Firm

ResMed Inc. (San Diego, CA, USA) has acquired Map Medizin-Technologie GmbH (Munich, Germany) for US$69 million in cash. ResMed develops and markets medical equipment for treating sleep-disordered breathing. Map also develops and markets medical devices for sleep-disordered breathing, with a focus on obstructive sleep apnea.Posted on 08 Mar 2001
"Map's strengths in R&D, sales, and marketing complement those of ResMed and will strengthen ResMed's market leadership position in Europe,” said Christopher Roberts, executive vice president of ResMed.
