Medica 2011, International Trade Fair with Congress (November 16-19, 2011, Düsseldorf, Germany) and Compumed 2011, International Trade Fair (November 16-18, 2011, Düsseldorf, Germany) have booked record numbers of international exhibitors. This highlights the steady growth of the global medical device and medical technology markets to its current volume of about EUR 300 billion.

About 4,500 exhibitors are already signed up for 1.2 million square feet of space at Medica 2011, the world's largest medical trade fair. Compumed 2011, the medical technology fair has attracted 600 exhibitors to date. The exhibitors at both fairs, which will fill the entire 19 halls at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds, represent over 60 countries and clearly mark the intensity of the competition in the medical device and technology markets.

Joachim Schäfer, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf explains, “The market is characterized by a lively exchange of goods. More than half of the medical devices, products, and instruments produced worldwide are made for export.”
