LiDCO (Cambridge, UK), a cardiovascular monitoring company, has entered into a contract with Philips Medical Systems (Best, The Netherlands) to create a communications link between LiDCO's proprietary, stand-alone monitoring system and Philip's patient monitors, via the Philips Open Vuelink interface protocol. Under the agreement, Philips will provide LiDCO with the appropriate software to enable a communications link between the LiDCOplus hemodynamic monitmonitor and Philips' IntelliVue patient monitor. Once completed, the communications link will allow Philips customers access to LiDCO's minimally invasive hemodynamic monitoring data on the IntelliVue patient monitor. The integration of critical care parameters and data derived from the LiDCOplus monitor will provide a full picture of the patient's condition and history to be displayed and assessed throughout the hospital.
"The communications link will further enhance the utility of the LiDCoplus for both our existing and future Philips customers. Our ambition is to make LiDCO's technology the standard of care throughput the hospital for minimally invasive hemodynamic monitmonitoring,” said Dr. Terry O'Brien, CEO of LiDCO.
