The 55th Annual China International Medical Fair (CMEF) and the 2nd International Component Manufacturing & Design Show (ICMD) held in Shenzhen, China, in May 2006 was a huge success, attracting record-breaking crowds of visitors. The four-day event played host to more than 1,818 exhibiting companies for CMEF, more than 117 exhibiting companies for ICMD, and more than 48,000 professional visitors. This year, more than 144 exhibitors came from 29 overseas countries to show-case their new products and technologies.Posted on 02 Jun 2006
This fair had six national pavilions, representing the United States, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Korea, compared to only four at the last fair. First-time exhibitors came from Japan, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Egypt, Thailand, Hungary, India, Indonesia, and Lithuania.
It was clear that the two shows helped international and local customers to discover new business opportunities. The show also helped many overseas exhibitors to have a better understanding of the vast potential of China and its surrounding markets. Many learning opportunities were provided through technical seminars and forums. Two key sessions were "Digital Medicine & Healthcare Information Technology Forum 2006” and "Standards of Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC) on Medical Electric Devices and the Basics of Design for Compliance.”
Many international companies are already planning for the next CMEF & ICMD, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 3 in 2006 in Zhengzhou, which has more than 80,000 square meters of exhibition space and serves as a gateway to all of China and the rest of the world.
"We are very encouraged to see that the internationalization program has borne fruit and will continue to invest in these areas to bring even more overseas exhibitors and visitors to our event so as to deliver business opportunities for the rapidly growing Chinese and wider Asia market,” Ms. Hu Kun Ping, vice president of Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (Beijing, China), which sponsored the event.
