Catheterization System Integrates Hemodynamics and Electrophysiology

A new system of integrated recording systems increases procedural efficiency, allowing for optimal patient care in the catheterization lab.

The Axiom Sensis XP combines recording capabilities for both hemodynamics and electrophysiology, increasing efficiency in the collection of patient data acquired before, during, and after a catheterization lab examination. The new system creates one-stop registration processing, enabling clinicians to switch seamlessly between applications with a click of the mouse and without the need for additional set-up.

The system possesses digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) compatibility and a health level (HL7) engine to fully integrate into the hospital network. Both the hemodynamic and electrophysiologic applications run on one common database and a common user interface, enabling intuitive handling of the system and improving overall departmental efficiency. The system communicates bi-directionally with the Axiom Artis imaging system for simple data transfer and generates reports automatically, based on customizable templates, integrating database entries and key images. The system is scalable as a single lab or a multilab solution, thereby representing the integrated core of the department with one central database for advanced reporting. Both the Axiom Sensis XP and the Axiom Artis are products of Siemens Medical Solutions (Erlangen, Germany).
