A new range of light emitting diode (LED) task and examination light devices is geared to cater for any medical environment, including minor surgery.

The Lucea LED examination light range offers all medical specialists, including family practitioners, dentists, dermatologists, gynecologists, and veterinarians, an examination light that provides autonomy, reliability, and a small environmental footprint. Excellent shadow dilution is offered thanks to the LEDs that are coupled with special lenses, producing a light with a high color temperature of 4500 K. The arrow-shaped head is designed to point exactly at the wound area, generating a uniform and concentrated light patch with a 50,000 lx field at 50 cm for the Lucea 10, and up to a 40,000 lx field at 100 cm for the Lucea 40. A color-rendering index fixed at 95 offers better tissue differentiation of both superficial and deep structures. The LED lights eliminate heat dissipation, creating greater patient comfort and safety. The Lucea range of LED examination lights are products of Maquet (Rastatt, Germany).

"More than 80% of Lucea is composed of recyclable materials and our LEDs are designed to last for more than 20 years, avoiding therefore all the needs for bulb replacement” said Frédéric Herpin, marketing director of Maquet France. "A special package has also been created with a very compact design in order to reduce waste to a minimum.”
