An innovative video laryngoscope designed for both routine and difficult intubations combines a reusable full-color display screen with a disposable blade.Posted on 25 Nov 2010
The King Vision Video Laryngoscope is a lightweight, self-contained, and battery operated system with a reusable integrated organic light emitting diode (OLED) video display. The individually packaged, disposable blades are available in both channeled and standard configurations, and incorporate anti-fog optics and bright light-emitting diode (LED) illumination in the distal tip. The robust, full-color, nonglare OLED display is water-resistant, thus able to withstand repeated cleaning and normal use wear and tear.

The channeled blade incorporates a guide for an endotracheal tube, which is integrated into an ergonomic handle, results in a low per-procedure cost, while still offering long-term, high-performance visualization capabilities, including full visualization during every placement. This assures complete control of the tip of the device without the need for a stylet. The King Vision Video Laryngoscope is a product of King Systems (Indianapolis, IN, USA), and is supplied in a protective foam case.
"Direct laryngoscopy has been effective and inexpensive for over 75 years; however, the view is often compromised, the maneuver is physical, and the placement must be directly observed by the clinician,” said Don Dumoulin, CEO of King Systems. "The King Vision is a new digital technology that will revolutionize the way intubations are performed around the world.”
King Systems has also launched an eCatalog that provides accurate and reliable information on the company's range of products. Among the features of the on‐line catalog are integration with King Systems' customer relationship management (CRM) system, which distributes sales contact requests to the sales team for prompt follow‐up, and the ability to select and send a detailed "products of interest” list to one of the sales representative, either locally or internationally.
