Based on new technology, a single ventilator can now be used to treat all categories of patients and treat them with different methodologies. The platform is designed to improve clinical performance, cost efficiency, and mobility. Posted on 16 Jan 2002
Called Servo, the ventilator can be customized to treat neonates, pediatric patients, and adult patients. Servo offers a wide range of ventilation modes, such as enhanced volume support, SIMV-PRVC, and Automode function. The system's high degree of modularity will enable it to keep pace with future options and new treatment opportunities. Plug-in battery modules extend options for bedside docking and placement and for patient records that can be fully maintained during transport. Transport is simplified by an interchangeable expiration cassette and cable management features. Servo is the product of Siemens' Electromedical Systems Division (Solna, Sweden).
"Servo heralds the end of selecting a different ventilator solution for each demand,” said Siegfried Russwurm, president of the Electromedical Systems Division. "In today's cost-efficient environment, Siemens' Servo streamlines operating costs and makes the most of any hospital investment.”
