The 22nd International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine will be held at the Congress Center in Brussels, March 19-22, 2002. The meeting was organized by the Department of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine of Erasmus Hospital (Brussels), in association with the Belgian Society of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. Nine other intensive-care societies will also participate.

The scientific program includes 68 symposia on intensive-care topics. Two special events are an associated meeting and roundtable conference on "Surviving Intensive Care,” a workshop on "Evidence-based Medicine,” and a course for advanced life-support providers presented by the European Resuscitation Council. An exhibition of scientific and technical material will be held concomitantly.

The social program includes a cocktail party at the opening of the scientific exhibition, a visit to the Town Hall, and a Gastronomical Voyage Around Europe in the Albert Hall complex. Details are provided on the Internet.
