A combined physician reporting solution provides image and procedural report management for invasive cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium), a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, has announced expanded capabilities of the IMPAX Cardiovascular (IMPAX CV) system, with the integration of advanced cardiology outcomes management software developed by Cedaron Medical (Davis, CA, USA), a supplier of quality measurement solutions for the healthcare industry.

The IMPAX CV solution now interfaces with Cedaron's CardiacCare solutions for cardiology outcomes data collection and U.S. national database reporting. The combined offering allows clinical users to collect procedural information and automatically import the required data to the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the U.S. National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR), the Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Database, and a number of U.S. state and provincial registries and databases, automatically populating the required data into the appropriate ACC, STS, or local registry templates. In addition to registry support, Cedaron also provides clinical data users with tools to query, benchmark, and report on the collected results.

"The introduction of the broader offerings of Cedaron's CardiacCare reporting is consistent with our belief that doctors and healthcare facilities should have access to the applications that best meet their needs,” said Lisa Braunreuther, global business manager of cardiology IT for Agfa HealthCare. "With recent changes to the ACC PCI collection format, cardiovascular departments are reassessing the performance of their existing data collection system. Our integrated solution helps care providers manage data for all of the existing ACC, STS, and state and provincial registries via the same easy-to-use system.”

"Cedaron is pleased to supply Agfa HealthCare customers the Cedaron CardiacCare registry solution for their national and state reporting needs,” said Karen Bond, president of Cedaron Medical. "Cedaron has been a certified vendor for more than 10 years for the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and has a best-in-class solution for registry reporting.”

The Agfa IMPAX CV solution for cardiovascular image and information management, reporting and access, enables clinicians to easily extract relevant patient information and render clinical data into consistent structured reports. It delivers a patient-centric view of a patient's entire imaging record by providing single sign-on access to multi-vendor, multimodality images, and information. The system offers several features, including advanced image management functionalities, structured reporting, and secure enterprise-wide access to diagnostic data.
