A program entitled "Medical Applications of Protein Research” will be sponsored by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and Beckman Coulter, Inc. (Fullerton, CA, USA). A satellite symposium of IFCC's Euromedlab 2001, the event is scheduled for May 25-26, in Prague, Czech Republic.Posted on 03 Jan 2001
The symposium will focus on the impact of basic and clinical research in shaping the future of the measurement of proteins in cells and body fluids. The conference is designed to explore ways to incorporate research results into clinical practice. As part of the program, clinical chemists who are active in protein research are invited to submit research abstracts for a poster exhibition and corresponding award session.
Some abstracts will be selected for oral presentations, of which three will receive a protein research award and 5,000 euros each. The abstracts must be based on original research conducted by the entrant, who must be under 40. There is no age limit to submit posters for presentation. Posters should be written in English and span one meter by one meter. A minimum 38-point size is required for the text. Submissions must be postmarked by March 1, 2001. Additional guidelines can be obtained via fax (+001-41-22-994-34-67) or e-mail (proteins@beckmancoulter.com).
