New Genealogy Testing Services

A new test for human identity and related services enable users to identify and preserve their genetic profiles.

The test is the same as that used by forensic and paternity laboratories and is based on a genetic variation known as short tandem repeat, or STR. These STR genetic markers form a unique identifying code for each individual, statistically powerful enough for human identification. The STR Map service allows consumers to have these markers typed for their private and confidential use by DNAPrint genomics (Sarasota, FL, USA).

Records manager software from Pearl Street Software, called Family Tree Legends, also available now from DNAPrint, preserves genealogy findings. In addition, DNAPrint offers another test, called Ancestry by DNA 2.5, which determines an individual's genomic percentage of sub-Saharan African, East Asian, European, and Native American.
