Master Workstation Monitors Many Lab Instruments

A new centralized workstation designed to simplify and automate laboratory processes enables a single operator to monitor and access multiple instruments.

Called Central Command, the workstation connects up to 12 instruments, including chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, and automation platforms. A connection for hemostatis systems is under development. Command Central allows the operator to access instruments via a network connection in real-time, making the management of workflow more efficient and improving turnaround time.

The system automatically displays alerts for conditions such as instrument troubleshooting, calibration status, reagent status, and QC (quality control) status, just as though the instruments were monitored separately. The workstation does not have to be situated near an instrument. It can be placed on the lab manager's desk or anywhere else in the lab.

The system is designed to operate in conjunction with the DL2000 Data Manager (also called Remisol 2000) of Beckman Coulter (Fullerton, CA, USA) and with Beckman Coulter's instruments.
