A new collaboration has been announced whereby Paradigm Genetics' Paradigm Array Laboratories (Research Triangle Park, NC, USA) offers services using the laser capture microdissection (LCM) systems and the Paradise reagent system of Arcturus Biosciences (Mountain View, CA, USA). Laser dissection of tissue samples allows targeting of specific cell types for analysis, rather then mixed cell populations, which results in more precise genomic data. Gene expression within dissected samples is analyzed using either arrays from either Affymetrix (Santa Clara, CA, USA) or Agilent Technologies (Palo Alto, CA, USA). Paradigm is the only authorized service provider for both platforms.
"This agreement with Paradigm provides Arcturus with an important new channel for marketing the capabilities of our integrated microgenomics LCM system and reagents that enable molecular analysis of microscopic tissue samples,” commented Bob Schueren, executive vice president and COO of Arcturus.
The collaboration is designed to provide scientists with more precise tools for measuring changes at the microscopic cellular level that are indicative of specific disease and drug activity.
