Interface Links Automation and Coagulation Systems

An automated interface is now available that links a modular diagnostic automation system with a coagulation workstation, increasing efficiency while maintaining the quality of results.

Specifically, the new interface links the Advia LabCell automation system of Bayer Diagnostics (Tarrytown, NY, USA) with the STA-R coagulation workstation of Diagnostica Stago (Asnieres, France). LabCell incorporates specimen processing and transport, analytic engines to perform tests, and a data management system--all designed to improve productivity, consolidate testing, decrease sample volumes, and improve service to clinicians and patients. At the STA-R workstation, clotting, chromogenic, and immunologic assays are performed simultaneously in random-access fashion. The system's sample management offers high throughput and rapid processing of STAT samples without the need to interrupt current testing.
