Urine Analyzer for Mid-Size Labs

A new compact urine analyzer that can improve efficiency and increase productivity is designed for mid-sized laboratories.

The analyzer, called Urisys 1800, tests on 10 parameters and offers convenience. The adjustable two-color touch screen allows for easy operation and controlled pacing with six-cycle time and continuous loading ability, which will improve efficiency, testing for around 600 strips per hour with 1,000 sample memory. The analyzer features an automatic strip detection to decrease operator error and a standard bar-code reader for complete patient identification. Operators can customize interface options, operations, and reports. The analyzer is the product of Roche Diagnostics (Basel, Switzerland).

Customers currently using the Chemstrip urine analyzer and Chemstrip instruments can easily and seamlessly transition to the new Urisys 1800 analyzer, according to Roche. Compatibility with laboratory equipment and overall productivity are increased by the ability to better manage work and data flow and the absence of software and equipment updates.

"The seamless interface emulation with the current Roche urinalysis instruments allows our customers to upgrade the product without having to rework their software or make a change from the proven Chemstrip technology,” said Dick Aderman, senior vice president and general manager, Roche Molecular and Centralized Diagnostics.
