Microscopes for Clinical Screening

Employing new optics and an array of novel technologies, a new line of microscopes has been developed that is designed for prolonged use, such as for use in clinical screening.

This BX2 series of microscopes, based on UIS2 optics, was developed by Olympus (Tokyo, Japan). The company was seeking to set a new standard for clinical-inspection microscopes that would be efficient, reliable, and comfortable to use.

The UIS2 optics are designed to provide superior contrast, brightness, and resolution, resulting in better clarity. They also provide improved field flatness and color matching, allowing faster screening of stained specimens with significantly reduced eye strain. The optics also provide better results in clinical observation methods such as bright field or phase contrast. They emit fluorescent signals with an unequalled signal-to-noise ratio and are therefore ideal for fluorescence observations.

The Olympus BX2 microscopes are designed to enable users to fully benefit from the company's ergonomic approach and the high optical performance of the UIS2 optics. The BX2 range comprises both ready-made solutions for routine clinical work and flexible open systems, which can be expanded with growing demands. Whichever system is selected, the UIS2 optics are particularly well suited to clinical screening.
