System for Preserving Serum Samples

A new system called the Serum Library is designed as a solution to all the issues associated with the safe preservation of serum samples.

The system features a stem-to-stern solution, incorporating hands-free aliquoting, ancillary functions, and tracking. A sealed benchtop robot carries out the aliquoting functions. The plates feature 48 tamper-proof 500 µl individually detachable wells, individually laser etched and ready for delivery to a frozen storage unit.

A key feature is the comprehensive software-managed tracking of each individual sample. Because of the fail-safe features built into the system, no identification mix-ups, storing errors, or contamination events can occur. Some of the system's more advanced features are optional and may be deployed only when and as the need arises. Designed to meet the needs of the average clinical or medical analysis laboratory, the system can be seamlessly integrated into a laboratory information system (LIS).

The Serum Library is the product of Central Labo Europe (Paris, France), which is also the manufacturer of Diamed ID cards and a prominent international supplier of immuno-hematology products.
