Assay Standardizes Western Blot

A new assay effectively standardizes Western blot assays by being performed in an enclosed environment that prevents accidental or unauthorized interference at any stage during the procedure.

The ProfiBlot 48 can be equipped with a charge coupled device (CCD) system to increase reliability by eliminating potential sources of human errors and to optimize data safety. The CCD generates an image of each well with the strip inside. Human-based visual inspection is therefore seldom necessary. The imaging system saves valuable time, since it allows unattended runs to be performed, which include the processing of data and the documentation of test results.

ProfiBlot 48 allows the processing of up to 48 strips per run with a choice of up to 20 different programs, entered via the on-board software or via a PC using Blotware software. Each program may contain a maximum of 60 steps.

The ProfiBlot reagent system produces consistent results every time with no cross-contamination across sample wells. A unique calibration system performs a self-check with each individual pump. Subsequent recalibration ensures the best possible results.
For fast dispensing, the system has two reagent channels with three pumps working in parallel and up to five channels for single-position reagent addition.
