Sample Preparation for Molecular Diagnostics

A new sample preparation platform represents a new solution for nucleic acid isolation, quantification, normalization, and reaction set-up for downstream assay analysis.

Called Vidiera NsP, the platform is based on the Biomek automation and diagnostic primary tube-handling technologies of Beckman Coulter (Fullerton, CA, USA) and is specifically designed to meet the growing need for molecular testing in hospital and reference laboratories.

Vidiera can be used for molecular diagnostic applications in virology and pathology and can be integrated with Beckman Coulter's Vidiera NsD nucleic sample detection system. Vidiera NsP can be used for setting-up reactions for most major downstream analytical instruments that molecular diagnostic laboratories have today, while Vidiera NsD enables labs to centralize pre-analytic functions in one room and to streamline the process. Vidiera NsP will be marketed to high-complexity diagnostic laboratories.

Beckman Coulter has more than 200,000 installed systems around the world that span the biomedical testing continuum from pioneering medical research and clinical trials to laboratory diagnostics and point-of-care testing.
