Infection-control team awards from Oxoid (Basingstoke, UK) are designed to recognize and reward those who are making a real difference to improve standards of infection control within hospitals worldwide. The 2005/2006 awards are now open for entry. Posted on 02 Nov 2005
First prize is U.S.$8,800, second prize is $1,760, and third prize is $880. The winning teams will be able to spend their prize money on team-building events, training, or travel expenses to conferences and seminars to extend their infection-control knowledge and provide better care for hospital patients.
The closing date for entries to the 2005/2006 awards is January 31, 2006. There are no forms to complete. To enter, all that is needed is a summary in less than 2,000 words that describes the infection-control challenge faced by the entrant's hospital and how team members responded to that challenge. The entrant should detail the results and how they have made a difference to patients and the hospital. Entry guidelines and other details are available on the website (www.oxoid.com).
