Scanner Integrated into Pathology System

Pathologists can now use an ultra-rapid whole-slide imaging-acquisition device as part of a comprehensive digital pathology system.

Apollo Telemedicine, Inc. (Falls Church, VA, USA), is partnering with DMetrix (Tucson, AZ, USA) to provide comprehensive software solutions for digital pathology. DMetrix Inc. provides ultra-rapid array-microscope whole glass slide digital imaging devices. DMetrix's DX-40 scanner will be incorporated into Apollo's enterprise digital pathology solution suite.

The picture archiving and communications system for pathology (PathPACS) was developed by Apollo Telemedicine. The system incorporates an extensive library of digital imaging device and laboratory information systems interfaces.

DMetrix develops array-microscope technology. The DMetrix DX-40 slide scanning system delivers rapid slide throughput, one-click scanning operation, and slipstream automation. DMetrix's first product, the DX-40 array-microscope system received R&D Magazine's 2005 award given to the 100 technologically most significant innovations.
