The SIRE (Sensors based on Injection of the Recognition Element) biosensor is a product of Chemel AB (Lund, Sweden). It is used for determining glucose, l-lactate, sucrose, methanol, ethanol, H2O2, ascorbic acid, and maltose in food and beverages. It is also suitable for biotech and pharmaceutical applications.
The SIRE 100e is a biosensor based on enzymatic/electrochemical technology with a built-in regeneration procedure of the probe electrode surfaces called electro cleaning. This feature maintains the high accuracy of the probe and increases its lifetime. The instrument is easily and quickly calibrated and the temperature variation during measurements is 2-3°C. The SIRE 101e is preprogrammed with two or three concentration levels for each analyte and the analysis time varies from two to 10 minutes. Parameters for new analytes can be easily downloaded through the Internet.
With little or no sample preparation and soluble easy-to-prepare enzymatic reagents, the biosensor has one probe for all analytes, and is operated by an easy-to-use push button device. It is highly accurate and is a versatile alternative to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and spectrophotometers.
