Coagulation Analyzer Designed for High-Volume Labs

A new coagulation analyzer for high-volume laboratories offers improved productivity, workflow, and turn-around time for patient results.

Dade Behring Inc. (Deerfield, IL, USA), has introduced the BCS XP System, the newest addition to the company's family of coagulation analyzers, during the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) annual meeting, in Chicago (IL, USA) in July 2006. The BCS XP system delivers customer-inspired features that resulted from interviews with BCS system customers.

The BCS XP System provides the most current technology in clotting, chromogenic, and immunologic methodologies. It has new innovative features, including customizable software based on customer protocols to improve laboratory efficiency and the automated endogenous thrombin potential (ETP) test, currently for research use only. The system also provides an automated ristocetin cofactor activity test that detects Von Willebrand disease, the most common inherited bleeding disorder.
