Cardiac Test Extended to Near-Patient Setting

A cardiac-specific, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) test has been launched on an acute care diagnostic system.

Dade Behring (Deerfield, IL, USA) offers the CardioPhase hsCRP test on three testing platforms: the BN nephelometry systems, the Dimension integrated chemistry and immunochemistry systems, and the Stratus CS acute care diagnostic system. This portfolio provides laboratories with cardiac test menus across multiple platforms. The cardiac-specific high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) test has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for both risk assessment of future cardiovascular disease and risk stratification of recurrent events.

The cardiac-specific CardioPhase hsCRP launched on the Stratus CS acute care system, a near-patient-setting instrument, offers a menu of seven tests. The menu includes: N-terminal-proB-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), high sensitivity Troponin I, D-dimer, myoglobin, mass MB isoenzyme of creatinine kinase (CK-MB), beta human chorionic gonadotropin (BetahcG), and CardioPhase hsCRP.
