New Digital Microscope Camera

A high-resolution digital microscope camera is designed for microscopists or technicians who need to capture precise scientific measurements and images for the purpose of analyzing, documenting, communicating, or archiving work. Applications include research facilities, contract and consulting laboratories, and teaching hospitals.

The camera (DMC 2) is an affordable imaging tool that captures sharp photos with speed and ease in true color and provides 14-bit per channel linear RGB images. Featuring an electronic shutter, the camera comes with a dual SCSI (small computer systems interface) connector to connect more than one system to a single computer, reducing the need for multiple workstations. The DMC 2 comes with SimplePCIp imaging software, which offers a variety of advanced options for editing and manipulating images. The software provides more than 150 measurements to quantify size, intensity, shape, position, and user-defined custom measurements. The DMC 2 is also equipped with Color Stacker software that enables the user to combine up to three images in one.

The DMC 2 is the product of Polaroid Corp. (Cambridge, MA, USA).
