Multiplexing Technology Streamlines EBV Patient Testing

Two Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) kits were launched for use on a diagnostic platform that employs multiplexing technology to analyze for multiple disease markers from a single patient sample.

The kits were released for use on the BioPlex 2200 system. Each of the two kits provides for multiple results from a single patient sample. The IgG kit includes assays for EBV VCA, EBV NA-1, and EBV EA-D, and the IgM kit includes assays for EBV VCA and heterophile antibodies. By delivering results for five of the most clinically relevant antibodies, the BioPlex 2200 system enables laboratories to rapidly determine patient serologic status on a fully automated and fully integrated random access platform.

Launched by Bio-Rad Laboratories (Hercules, CA, USA), the novel automated multiplexing technology streamlines EBV patient testing and maximizes laboratory efficiency.
