Journées Internationales de Biologie 2007 Conference to Focus on Evolution of Biology

The scientific conference, Journées Internationales de Biologie (JIB) 2007, will be held in Paris (France) from November 6-9, 2007, and the accompanying exhibition on November 7-9, 2007. It is being organized by the Syndicat des Biologistes (SDB; French Biologists' Union).

The theme of this year's conference will be, "biology, a fantastic evolution.” This evolution is currently taking place in the medical profession and clinical laboratories. Jean Benoit, president of the SDB, said, "Changes have [occurred] while conserving the very essence of our profession, that is to say a function of health practitioner close to his patient, whose role of consultant is progressively being established.”

Biology's clinical discoveries and innovating techniques enable early diagnostics, prevention, and public health control measures, which have made the biologist a genuine partner to physicians and hospitals.

This year, nearly 9,000 visitors, among them 20% from abroad, will be able to attend more than 10 scientific sessions and learn about the technologies of 170 exhibitors. Every day, speakers, and professionals will meet at the Café Scientifique, for discussions on new concepts, technologies, and strategies in their specific fields.
