Blood Serum Biomarker Test for Parkinson's Diseases Evaluated

The initial phase of an international validation study of a blood serum protein biomarker test for Parkinson's diseases has been completed.

Clinical validation studies in the United States demonstrated that the blood serum protein biomarker test was capable of distinguishing between Parkinson's disease patients and normal control subjects. Further validation studies were carried out using samples provided by the University of Thessaly School of Medicine (Greece). These studies showed that the changes in the blood serum concentration of the protein biomarkers in Parkinson's disease patients were consistent with the results obtained in the United States.
