New Tracking Software for Laboratories

Specialized laboratory vial and slide specimen tracking software give laboratorians an efficient way to label, track, and manage the location and movement history of critical laboratory samples.

Two new application add-ons offer specialized features. Cryogenic Lab Sample Storage tracks the exact location and study information on each sample vial in cryogenic storage typically used in genetics, virology, and pharmaceutical research. All data needed for reporting are set up in user-defined fields in databases. Fields include vial ID, vial description, study number, batch number, case number, expiration date, and source of the content. The system can be set to produce customizable reports based on any data field variable.

A second application, called Cytopathology tracking, enables laboratory staff to track the exact location and the specimen, patient, result, and cost information on each specimen slide throughout the standard clinical or research study process. The system provides flexible reports on slide contents summarized by individual, doctor, billing identification, and other customizable variables.
