Completion of Analyzer Menu for Infectious Diseases

Announcing the completion of its line of Enzygnost assays for the BEP2000 automated bench-top analyzer, Dade Behring (Liederbach, Germany) says it now serves the needs of the low-to-medium volume testing market for infectious disease diagnostics.

The automated analyzer has a capacity of up to 200 primary sample tubes. The processing of test requests, including sample and reagent identification and pipetting plate washing, incubating, reading and result evaluation are all operator independent. The ability to combine different assays on one plate optimizes throughput for individual customer needs. Safety features include conductimetric reagent volume check, positive sample and reagent identification, and avoidance of carry-over by using disposable pipette tips for samples and reagents.

"This fully automated system will strengthen our position in infectious disease diagnostics and enable us to expand into new market segments,” said Heinz-Jurgen Heuser, vice president and general manager, infectious disease diagnostics at Dade Behring Marburg.
