Support Grows for Laboratory Information Online

The five original sponsors of the public-service website on clinical laboratory testing, called Lab Tests Online, have renewed their commitment as sponsors of the website. They are Abbott Laboratories, Bayer Diagnostics, Beckman Coulter, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, and Roche Diagnostics.

Expanding this base of support are nine other companies that have signed on as sponsors: Sigma Diagnostics, Adeza Biomedical, CanAg Diagnostics, Cholestech Corp., Fujirebio Diagnostics, International Teledyne Corp., Nanogen, Inc., Sysmex, and Olympus.

Lab Test Online makes it easy for patients to find information about a broad range of general and more esoteric tests and includes feature articles that provide insights into topics such as reference ranges, home testing, and laboratory regulations. All editorial material is developed and reviewed by a consortium of six professional societies, including the American Association for Clinical Chemistry.

"This is an excellent resource that will help make the patient smarter about lab testing, and so, it will also make our industry stronger,” said Philippe Barzin, director of global e-business at Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics and a member of Lab Tests Online's business advisory board.
