A new one-step, rapid test is designed for professional use in the early detection of pregnancy. Called ICON 25, the test provides reliable results for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in serum or urine.Posted on 23 Oct 2000
The sensitivity of the test is 25 mIO/ml hCG with > 99% specificity. The easy-to-use test gives results in only three minutes with urine and five minutes with serum. The immunochemical test is primarily intended for use in the physician office setting. Use requires just three drops of speciment. It complements the ICON II HCG test for detection of hCG to levels of 10 mIU/ml.
The ICON 25 can be stored at room temperature and has a shelf life that is among the highest in the industry, according to the marketer, Beckman Coulter (Palo Alto, CA, USA).
