Telepathology System with Remote Access

New software allows remote access with live streaming imaging from a microscope to PCs via the Internet, enabling pathologists to incorporate high quality images into their medical reports, creating savings and efficiencies in healthcare delivery.

The software, called ASAP Imaging (Apollo streaming anatomic pathology imaging), was demonstrated at the annual meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology in Washington, DC (USA). ASAP Imaging allows pathologists to provide diagnostic services via the Internet. This capability easily extends their services to remote areas and allows them to collaborate and to educate their clients and partners, increasing the quality of each diagnosis. The software is the product of Apollo Telemedicine, Inc. (Falls Church, VA, USA), which develops telepathology systems and telemedicine solutions.
