Leptin Soluble Receptor Elisa

A new two-site enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is highly specific for the soluble, extracellular portion of the human leptin receptor, allowing a true measurement of circulating levels without cross-reactivity or interference with leptin.

The one-step assay offers 3.5 hours turn-around-time and is easily automated. There is no detectable cross-reactivity or interference with human recombinant leptin. The assay is suitable for use with serum or plasma. No sample treatment is required and reagents are ready to use.

Leptin has a role in many diverse physiologic processes, especially obesity but also energy homeostasis, inflammation, angiogenesis, hematopoiesis, immune function, and reproduction, according to studies. Leptin circulates either as a free hormone or bound to specific binding proteins, the most abundant being the extracellular portion of the specific leptin receptor.
