The ability to send and receive operational data will enable service representatives to identify potential technical issues from a remote location, promoting a quick and accurate analysis of any technical problems. The system is designed to transmit instrument logs, files, maintenance records, calibrations, and other performance data. No patient data, however, will be sent. Called AbbottLink, the system was developed by Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park, IL, USA) and will be available for use on the company's line of automated instruments.Posted on 29 Aug 2003
