An organic decontaminator that is 200 times more powerful than chlorine captures and decomposes viruses, bacteria, and other harmful organic compounds without the disadvantages of commonly used chemical based germicides. Posted on 26 Oct 2009
T-Zap works on all organic contaminants from 100 microns down to 0.001 micron, and is effective against all bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungus that are transmitted by contact with skin by air or by water. T-Zap is also effective against algae, as well as odors and volatile organic compounds.
T-Zap contains three active components, all of which are natural, food-grade ingredients: Hydroxyapatite, Titanium Dioxide, and trace Silver. Hydroxyapatite, a form of Calcium Phosphate, attracts and binds organic contaminants; Titanium Dioxide, a strong oxidizer, then decomposes the trapped contaminants; and the trace silver, when combined with Titanium Dioxide, acts as an anode to speed up the rate of reaction. The process is based on photocatalytic oxidation (PCO); however, while regular PCO requires a catalyst (ultraviolet light and moisture), T-Zap does not; it also eliminates the harmful substances completely, with only Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and water released as the end result of the process. The contaminant's complete decomposition is usually achieved within two hours.
T-Zap is available in liquid form, and can be applied to capture and decompose organic compounds in air, in water, on fabrics, on solid surfaces (as part of paint), and on skin. It is stable and long lasting, with a shelf-life over 5 years, and when applied to textiles lasts up to 50 washes; as a paint additive, it will absorb odors and organic contaminants for up to 5 years; in air purifiers--as a coating on HEPA filter-- it lasts up to 36 months; as an odor sheet for confined spaces, it will last up to 12 months; and as an antialgae sheet in aquariums, it can last up to 12 months. T-Zap has been tested for the past eight years in hundreds of medical institutions across Japan, including infectious disease research institutes, and room decontaminator units are being deployed in hospitals and hospices at a rate of over 100 units per month in Japan alone. T-Zap is a product of T-Zap (Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia).
