A new patent-pending 5-12 mm trocar seal, called Entree II Valve/Reducer, has been introduced by Core Dynamics (Jacksonville, FL, USA). The company says it represents a technologic breakthrough in design and manufacturing process for a laparoscopic trocar seal.

Core Dynamics also announced the issuance of another U.S. patent covering its proprietary cannula technology based on its "reposable” Entree II product line. Two other new products for the laparoscopic market recently introduced by Core were the Core Specimen Pouch and Core 5 mm Scissor. Core Dynamics is a global developer and distributor of disposable laparoscopic surgical instrumentation for general surgery, gynecology, and peripheral vascular applications.

"The introduction of the new patent-pending trocar seal and the issuance from the U.S. Patent Office of yet another trocar and cannula patent continues to strengthen Core Dynamics' position as a leading developer of laparoscopic trocars and cannulas,” noted William G. Dennis, chairman and CEO of Core Dynamics.
