Medical Illumination Buys Nuvo to Broaden Line

Medical Illumination International, a premier manufacturer of medical lighting equipment, has announced the acquisition of Nuvo, a supplier of medical equipment for the operating room market. Financial details were not disclosed.

Medical Illumination (San Fernando, CA, USA), founded in 1978, manufactures surgical, procedure, and exam lighting equipment and accessories for the medical and dental fields. Nuvo (Erie, PA, USA), founded in 1997, is a supplier of surgical lights, integrated video monitoring systems, equipment management systems, and surgical tables. The merger will further expand the Nuvo division's product portfolio of lighting to the acute care and ambulatory markets.
