A new modular operating room (OR) table can accommodate almost all known surgical positions, and can provide an optimal operating environment for all kinds of cases, from hip pinnings to robotic prostatectomies.

The TruSystem 7500 OR table system possesses universal coupling points, and comes with up to three motorized joint pairs make it possible to use remote controls to position the patient quickly, safely, and precisely. OR staff can program the adjustment speed of all tabletop motors as needed; to return to the zero position, all motors in the tabletop work simultaneously, thus saving time. A novel feature is a third motorized joint pair between the lower and upper back plates, which enables new positioning options. For thoracic surgeries, for instance, the patient's ribcage can be stretched precisely to the desired degree so it can be opened more easily. Both column and tabletop are equipped with precision motors, each of which is equipped with individually programmable speeds. The hardware and software architecture allows additional motor-operated components to be added. The patient also benefits from ergonomic and safe positioning, since the lengths of the individual tabletop segments correspond to the average distances between joints in the human anatomy. The mechanically encoded coupling points prevent disallowed configurations of the table.

The table system offers practically unlimited configuration possibilities, including extreme adjustment angles--such as 65° (Anti-)Trendelenburg, 30° tilt, and a minimal height of 596 mm. The column, tabletops, components, accessories, and shuttle are designed for a patient weight of up to 360 kg. The Trendelenburg capability of the OR table is split between the column and the top; besides the 45º offered by the column, the tabletop can be adjusted by another 20º. Thus, an extremely low head or foot position of 65º can be achieved. The Trusystem 7500 combines proven features such as modularity and compatibility with all previous model components and accessories. The TruSystem 7500 OR table system is a product of TRUMPF Medical Systems (Saalfeld, Germany).
