The SofPulse tPEMF 912-M10, Roma, and Torino II series of products are indicated for the palliative treatment of postoperative pain and edema in superficial soft tissue, by enhancing the body's anti-inflammatory and angiogenic responses. The tPEMF technology is drug-free, easy to apply, and has an excellent safety profile. The new SofPulse devices are portable, disposable, and more economical, with significantly lowered electromagnetic interference. The tPEMF signals works through clothing, dressings, and even plaster casts. The system consists of a power supply and a range of applicators; the selected applicator head is swung into position, lightly resting against the affected area (direct contact is not required). Treatments are generally given twice or three times a day, lasting for 30 minutes. Improvements have been made to electrotherapy devices in recent years, which have so far been used successfully in rhytidectomy, liposculpture, laser resurfacing, brow lifting, and facial fat grafting, as well as in rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, and breast surgery for reducing edema and pain.
