A powerful pulsed Neodymium: Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Nd:YAG) laser quickly and effectively performs laser periodontal surgery, as well as all other soft tissue laser procedures.

The PerioLase MVP-7 is intended for ablating, incising, excising, vaporization and coagulation of soft tissues using a contact fiber optic delivery system, and is specifically designated for the minimally invasive treatment of periodontal disease using the laser assisted new attachment procedure (LANAP), which creates a new attachment of the periodontal ligament via a cementum-mediated connection to the root surface, in the absence of long junctional epithelium. The system can also be used in general and cosmetic dentistry, otolaryngology, arthroscopy, gastroenterology, general surgery, ermatology and plastic surgery, neurosurgery, gynecology, urology, ophthalmology, and pulmonary surgery.

The PerioLase MVP-7 laser consists of two interconnected sections: a cabinet that houses the laser head, the power supply, the cooling system, and the microprocessor with control panel; and the fiber optic delivery system. Among the features of the PerioLase MVP-7 are a powerful 6-Watt Free Running (FR) digital pulsed Nd:YAG laser, with seven operator selectable digital pulse durations; an energy counter rated in Joules; a tilting touch screen with a procedure driven menu, and a integrated printer. The PerioLase MVP-7 is a product of Millennium Dental Technologies (Cerritos, CA, USA), and has received Conformité Européenne (CE) certification.

"Our objective has always been to provide patients worldwide with the benefits of less invasive, less painful gum disease treatment, and this CE marking will allow us to accomplish this mission by strengthening our ability to penetrate European markets,” said Delwin McCarthy, D.D.S., CTO of Millennium Dental Technologies. "It opens the door for introducing the LANAP protocol in the EU and other markets.”
