The VisuALIF Interbody Fusion Device is an open-faced, modular lumbar interbody device that allows in situ bone graft placement and subsequent device placement flush with the anterior aspect of the vertebrae, using a snap-in face plate attachment. The device is available in a range of product sizes and configurations, and is designed to meet surgeon requirements across a wide spectrum of patient anatomy. A locking mechanism provides visual and tactile assurance of correct placement.

Further benefits of the device include semiconstrained and constrained system options, radiolucent construction with tantalum markers, a shear off set screw, and an anterior zero profile. Two vertebral body footprints are available, which can be combined with six different anterior plate sizes. The device is provided with multiple implant holder options for precise implant manipulation and end plate preparation with the interbody already inserted. The VisuALIF Interbody Fusion Device is a product of SpineSmith Partners (Austin, TX, USA), and has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
"The VisuALIF incorporates an anterior open-face allowing surgeons to visualize disc and end plate preparation, leading to optimum graft placement with respect to available volume,” said Kevin Dunworth, general partner of SpineSmith Partners.
