Atherectomy System Effectively Restore Vessel Patency

A novel rotational thrombectomy system allows physicians to restore patency and flow in occluded arteriovenous fistulae and synthetic grafts.

The Cleaner15 Rotational Thrombectomy System utilizes a 15 mm long single, sinusoidal wire that allows for atraumatic, effective wall contact and thrombus maceration with particulate aspiration, for safe and effective thrombus removal in patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The 1.117 mm diameter wire, combined with the increase in torque, provides the physician with the power needed for performing difficult declotting cases, with resulting reduced procedure time and enhanced steerability in tight stenoses and aneurysms.

The atherectomy system is based around a battery powered device that rotates the tip at 4,000 revolutions per minute (RPM) for drilling through the arterial plaque. The radiopaque outer catheter distal tip and sinuous wire segment allows the end user to effectively navigate under fluoroscopic visualization. The system is compatible with 2 mm introducer sheaths, and is available in both 65 cm and 135 cm lengths. The Cleaner15 Rotational Thrombectomy System is a product of Argon Medical Devices (Plano, TX, USA), and was designed and is manufactured by Rex Medical (Conshohocken, PA, USA).
