The EnSeal G2 articulating tissue sealer is designed to allow surgeons to take a perpendicular approach to seal blood vessels and lymphatics of up to 7 mm in diameter, through a standard 5-mm port. The articulation helps surgeons maneuver around corners and behind structures in the body, and provide better access to tissue in deep or tight spaces for greater control of the angle of approach to vessels. Moreover, since vessels sealed perpendicularly are stronger than those sealed at oblique angles, the likelihood of internal bleeding and postsurgery complications is reduced.

The EnSeal G2 system builds on proprietary I-BLADE technology, which delivers high uniform compression for sealing vessels consistently along the length of the device jaw, providing superior tissue sealing. The proprietary electrode configuration is designed to minimize thermal spread into surrounding tissue by using positive temperature coefficient technology and an offset electrode configuration to control energy spread. The EnSeal G2 articulating tissue sealer is a product of Ethicon Endo-Surgery (Ethicon; Cincinnati, OH, USA).
