An advanced exam scheduling radiology information system (RIS) wizard has been designed for multi-site facilities that searches across locations to select the first appointment available for a specific modality. This saves schedulers significant time, speeds exam workflow through more efficient appointments, and enhances patient care by accelerating diagnosis. Posted on 05 Nov 2007
Also new is an exclusive RIS Concepts' (Miami, FL, USA) RadSpeak feature that utilizes templates and macros to streamline web-based dictation and enable radiologists who have been previously unsuccessful with voice recognition to take advantage of this highly efficient tool. When accessed, RadSpeak presents the user with a range of exam report templates. Through verbal commands, the user simply selects which standard paragraphs from the template to include in the report, makes any necessary changes, and calls for a digital signature. Radiologists also can create an unlimited number of custom voice-controlled templates.
According to RIS Concepts, radiologists whose speaking voices typically are not compatible with voice recognition software can take advantage of its efficiencies using RIS Concepts voice-controlled templates that eliminate the need for lengthy dictation.
