A new modular surgical table offers ease of use, reliability, flexibility, and expandability, reducing the need for special-purpose tables.

The TruSystem 7000 surgical operating table is designed with a flat base, offering a longitudinal shift of 457 mm and a height range of 580–1,145 mm. Together with a unique Trendelenburg/reverse-Trendelenburg range of ±45°, and a tilt range of ±30°, the table can meet any surgical demand in general, laparoscopic, robotic, and orthopedic surgery of patients weighing up to 450 kg. In addition, the TruSystem 7000 can adapt to changing technologies and procedures thanks to a range of lightweight components with built-in, molded carrying handles that connect via a new ergonomic coupling point system.

Additional features include an intuitive remote control with a liquid crystal diode (LCD) touch display and 30 memory settings for table positions; a full body X-ray channel that allows 100% C-arm access and head-to-toe imaging; docking capability with leading robotic surgery technologies; double layer viscoelastic foam pads to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers; advanced stabilization technology to automatically level and lock the table, even on uneven surfaces; and an emergency override that unlocks the table in case of power interruption, allowing patient and table to be moved quickly and safely.

The Trumpf TruSystem 7000 is equipped with four dual castors that ensure ease of movement, while an additional fifth wheel (available in an optional motorized version) supports convenient travel with the patient in place. The table base is also equipped with a self-leveling hydraulic locking system and an emergency unlock feature, and contains two lithium-ion batteries that supply enough power for a full week of normal use. The TruSystem 7000 surgical operating table is a product of TRUMPF Medical Systems (Saalfeld, Germany).

“TruSystem 7000 follows our customers’ wish for a surgical table that is able to handle most hospital’s typical case loads,” said Eckhard Meiners, MD, managing director of TRUMPF Medical Systems. “Clinicians identified specifically two common challenges: The heaviness of table components and difficulty in attaching them. To rectify these problems, TRUMPF now offers lightweight components for TruSystem 7000.”
